The Chairman, Senate Committee on Trade and
Investment, Senator Rose Oko is dead.
Senator Oko who is representing Cross River North,
passed on last night in a United Kingdom hospital at
the age of sixty-three.
She was the first female Senator from her Senatorial
District elected in June 2015 and was re-elected last
year.
Her death is coming after another senator and Vice
Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs,
Senator Ignatius Longjan from Plateau died last
month at a Turkish hospital in Abuja.
Before then, the Chairman, Senate Committee on
Employment, Labour and Productivity, Senator
Benjamin Uwajumogu had died in December, last
year.
A relative of late Senator Rose Oko, Mr. Patrick
Okoroji who confirmed the death, said the Senator
passed on after a long battle with a physical
affliction.
